The Mount Joy Forge (today known as Valley Forge, from 1777 to 1778 Washington's winter quarters in in Isaac Potts House) was operated by the firm Potts, Hackley (Hockley?) & Potts. These were Joseph and his son David Potts and their cousin Thomas Hackley. In 1768 the forge was conveyed to Joseph Potts. Manufactured were military meterials and munitions. The forge was burned by the British in September, 1777.
